Slaughterhouse member Royce Da 5’9″ has been pretty busy lately. He’s out promoting his upcoming album “Layers” that drops April 15th. He has an interview with Complex that will be released soon. They’ve given us a taste of the interview with a clip where Royce discusses the beef with Joey Bada$$ and Troy Ave.
Troy goes at Joey on his diss track “BAD ASS”. It’s in response to Joey’s recently released song “Ready”, where he sends a low key shot at Troy. In “BAD ASS” Troy crosses the line in my and l Royce’s opinion when he brings up the suicide of Pro Era member Capital Steez.
Don’t get suicidal like ya friend, here’s a casket / Steez burning in Hell, my burner’s in my belt / I’m really killing shit, you niggas killing yourself / Fucking weirdos, off the roof, ‘Steer clear yo!’ / This niggas tryna fly, he think he a superhero / Splat man! Fuck you and that man.
Royce says that Troy should apologize to Capital Steez family for his comments. I understand beef and it’s a part of Hip Hop. A part that I really like and it keeps things fresh and MCs on their toes and pushes them as lyricists. But I think there are lines that shouldn’t be crossed and Troy Ave did.
I’m sure there’s more to follow so stay tuned.
