Sat May 18th 2019, In celebration of Hip Hop Appreciation Week 2019, and the release of his new book HIP HOP AT THE END OF THE WORLD, Legendary Hip Hop photographer and cultural pioneer Brother Ernie Paniccioli returns to Toronto.
Hip Hop Appreciation Week acknowledges the original intent of Hip Hop (Peace, Unity, Love and safely having Fun), and urges those who may work in any area of media, or entertainment, and/or education to upgrade their presentation of original Hip Hop to the public. This year Hip Hop Appreciation Week is May 12th to May 20th 2019. Our theme this year is FOCUS. (Follow One Course Until Success)
Brother Ernie Paniccioli will be in and around the Toronto area from May 14th to the 20th and will be visiting various schools, community centers, reservations, prisons, and more….Join us at 7pm for a screening of his documentary THE OTHER SIDE OF HIP HOP – THE SIXTH ELEMENT after which Brother Ernie will engage the audience, followed by an all elements, all female line up of performers! A vibrant, interactive presentation that demonstrates how modern hip-hop shares many similarities with Shakespeare, particularly themes, rhythm, and use of language. 3 actors demonstrate the parallels between the plays & our contemporary experience.
