Canada’s hip hop legend, Michie Mee, will take the crowd through a history of her life in music as well as illuminating the form of hip hop, and exploring the ins and outs of the evolving genre.

Michie Mee is known within the music industry for her unique rap style of combining reggae and dancehall with hip-hop. Many successful artists have followed in Michie’s footsteps using this gifted technique. With over two decades in the entertainment industry, the Juno nominated rapper and actress is not only an inspiration for female musicians, but also all artists nationwide.

Multi-Instrumentalist/Producer Zo! is Detroit-area born and raised, Silver Spring, MD based… Lorenzo Ferguson. Influenced by a wide range of music genres introduced to him at an early age, Zo! utilizes multiple layers of thick instrumentation to shape his compositions, as demonstrated on his solo albums.
While touring his own material regularly, Zo! can also be seen on stages as the keyboardist and Musical Director for GRAMMY-nominated duo, The Foreign Exchange. In 2014, he completed music for the Adult Swim animated series, Black Dynamite. Zo! also co-produced The Foreign Exchange’s most recent release, 2015’s Tales From The land Of Milk and Honey.
His latest release Four Front features a bevy of guest vocalists such as Stokley (Mint Condition), Devin Morrison , Eric Roberson, Sy Smith, Deborah Bond and Madison McFerrin.

This all takes place at Friday Roots, 876 Dundas St West, Toronto.

Hainbach – Based out of Berlin, Germany, electro-acoustic music composer and performer Hainbach (Opal Tapes, Seil Records) creates shifting audio landscapes THE WIRE called “One hell of a trip.” Using esoteric synthesizers, test equipment, magnetic tape and idiophones his music is both abstract yet very much a corporal experience.

KOREA TOWN ACID – Korea-born, Toronto-based DJ/Producer Korea Town Acid is a classically trained pianist evolved to free-form beat manipulator. She creates swinging dance rhythms and moody bangers that meld disassembled minimalism, free jazz, and the more avant-garde corners of techno. She brings a fresh perspective, melding abstract rhythms and textures with emotional vibes.
