Benny the Butcher and DJ Drama teamed up on a new project “Benny the Butcher & DJ Drama Presents Black Soprano Family”. Benny is putting his crew on, sharing the stage with Rick Hyde and Heem. Benny and the crew stay in their lane, kicking rugged street rhymes over classic inspired sounds.
It is great to see Benny sharing the spotlight with his crew. He’s building up the Black Soprano Family and hopefully setting them up for independent success. I find that this is a struggle for many high profile artists who have labels or crews they want to develop. They usually focus on themselves and don’t have the time or resources to bring their crew up with them. Wu-Tang are one of the crews that come to mind who were able to have individual and group success. A$AP Mob have done their thing as well thanks to the contribution of the late great Yams.
