Celebrate The 20th Anniversary Of Dan-e-o’s Track “Dear Hip Hop”

For those who may not know, Toronto emcee Dan-e-o is a staple of Canadian Hip Hop. He reps Hip Hop to the fullest, respecting the art of lyricism and always making moves to elevate the Hip Hop culture. I can remember the first time heard Dan-e-o. I was watching the show “Rap City”, a tv show where you could stay connect to new and popular Hip Hop music. This was before the internet blew up, so other than radio, “Rap City” is where you could get your daily dose of Hip Hop music. I saw the music video for his track “Dear Hip Hop” and was immediately moved and impressed by the track. Dan-e-o immediately had me captivated by his lyrical skills. Bar for bar, his lyrics can stand with some of the best Hip Hop currently out. And this was 20 years ago.

The track was released in 1996 on the Hip Hop compilation “Rap Essentials”. This compilation was an expression of Canadian Hip Hop, and could go head to head with any other Hip Hop compilations around the world at that time.

To celebrate this, Dan-e-o is selling 20th anniversary “Dear Hip Hop” t-shirts. You can donate to his crowdfunding campaign, where he is raising funds for his upcoming album.

More from Dan-e-o and how you can get a t-shirt and support the moves he is making:

Due to popular demand, I will be completing my FINAL order for the new #DearHipHop #20thanniversary#tshirts next week. As part of the crowdfunding campaign that I initiated last summer to raise funds to complete the new album, I offered these shirts exclusively to those who donated $50 towards the cause.

The perk also includes a copy of the new album on CD when it is released as well as FREE shipping. Anyone interested in getting one of these shirts can make donations via etransfer to info@dan-e-o.com. Be sure to include your size (S, M, L, XL, XXL, XXXL), style (men’s/ladies) and shipping address. Thank you to EVERYONE who has already shown their support!

Shout out to Dan-e-o for the contributions he has made to not only Canadian Hip Hop, but the Hip Hop culture as a whole. If Dan-e-o’s music has been a part of your life, make sure you support!
