Joey Bada$$ Gets Deep On New Track “Land Of The Free”

Pro Era member and Brooklyn resident Joey Bada$$ has release a new track titled “Land Of The Free”. It was the perfect time to take a political stance on a track, as it was released yesterday on the day of the inauguration of the new US president Donald Trump. He puts a microscope on America and the popular phrase “land of the free”, expressing that America is not as “free” as you may think. There is a lot of work that needs to be done to make thing better.

Production came from Kirk Knight and Adam Pallin. The beat has a smooth vibe. They use a synth nicely to add texture to the track. The drums remind me the Biggie track “Juicy”.

Joey gets deep saying:

Still got the last names of our slave owners

He takes shots at the new president Donald  Trump saying:

Donald Trump is not equipped to take this country over

And also states:

Sorry America but I will not be your soldier

I like that a young cat like Joey has a socially conscious mindset. He uses his lyrics to send a message. A lot of emcees, young and old are rapping about money, women, cars, jewelry and other superficial things. It’s refreshing to hear a different perspective. Great food for thought.

Listen on Soundcloud.

And on Spotify.
